Established in 1989, specialist IT services provider, Sota Solutions Ltd, relocated to Kent Science Park in 2003, after delivering a project to expand the availability of Broadband Internet access at the site.
Thanks to Sota, Kent Science Park is now probably the best connected business location in the region, and is fast becoming a magnet to bandwidth-hungry businesses and organisations.
Sota provides network infrastructure, data centre and Internet services to a wide spectrum of businesses locally, nationally and internationally. The SotaConnect fibre network has an extensive regional footprint in Kent and is fully integrated with a state-of-the-art national Ethernet network. This means that tenants at Kent Science Park, as well as many businesses in the south east, can now have ultra-fast and resilient Internet access, as well as private connections to London and many other regions in the UK. With access to 100 of kilometres of dark fibre, Sota can provide connectivity solutions which even BT cannot.
Leveraging the connectivity, security, power availability, and physical security of the Park, Sota has made significant capital investment in the development of two state-of-the-art data centres. With over 10,000sq ft of technical space, it is now the largest commercial data centre operator in Kent. Less than 45 miles from central London, the SotaConnect data centres are now the location of choice for many financial institutions and insurance companies, as well as a growing number of the region’s leading businesses. Combined with Sota’s workplace recovery suite, the science park has become a natural hub for business continuity and disaster recovery services.
Sota was recently awarded the Technology Award at the Kent Business Awards 2008, and achieved the accolade of Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007.
